Freaking itchy scarfs on my neck!!!! Damn hat smushing my hair to "drown rat look" status has me completely bum'd. I'm totaly not feeling inspired to comb my hair, never mind blow drying it. The static! Can we talk about the static people!. I've been walking around with stainless steel spoons to get rid of it. I tried bounce sheets that make my hair greasy, and the spray that smells like SH** but my hair is still clingy. I miss the bleach blondes, the warm sunkissed brunettes, and the blinded my the sun glossy ravens. Could someone ANYONE please tell mother nature to make it spring already!!!!

This is a pic from Memories of a Geisha. So I tend to be obsessed with these misunderstood escorts who are greatly educated in politics and etiquette. I can appreciate the time and study it took to be one of these revered beauties. It is unfortunate that these almost majestic creatures have ever been called prostitute. Just the time and attention needed to create there looks were amazing. Their appearances were a great example of patience. They had to sleep with their heads on wooden blocks to take care not to ruin the hair. Rice was even sometimes spread around the block which would get stuck in the hair if they rolled around becoming then a mark of shame. Some of the women would even go bald because of the tension from the sculpted shapes. Now it may be a bit crazy in the pursuit of vanity, but their appearances were a reflection of their importance. I wouldn't say that today sleeping on a bed of rice is cool. But in a world where we are judged on our appearance more then we like to admit, I would say that brushing our teeth, and running a comb through the hair is not to much to ask.

I finally watched Fight Club. Ya I know that I am a bit late. Well any hoo. I have to admit that after watching 2 hours of Brad Pitt and my boyfriend Edward Norton sweaty and with no shirts on I was totally ready to go out and Kick someones ass. This movie was INSANE! when it comes to bringing about the terror of possibly having multiple personality disorder.I have to admit that I LOVE Marla Singer. I think that she totally personifies the sick twisted side of many out there (not me of course). Her hair was always a hot mess. Messy, greasy, short and wild. She is definitely comfy in her dirty grimy self. Somewhere though in that hot crazy, and I mean crazy mess there are glimpses of her beautiful venerability. She may be someone that you might not want to bump into late at night, but she is striking and memorable none the less. You go girl! with your die any moment starved for attention, dildo loving self!!!

It's now the holidays and I'll probably still be tied up with the whole santa thing, but in the new year I've got to get back too it. So things are changing a bit at the shop, and I’m super excited. There are a few faces to introduce you to.

First off there is Del. She is the new aesthetician. She has been in this line of work for about 20 years. Although she provides full aesthetic services, she loves doing facials, and pedicures. She has experience in threading waxing and bio sculpt gel nails. Her ideas about what PureSense needs in the aesthetic department are essential for the growth of the salon. We at PureSense are continuing to add to the spa side by trying to create a more relaxing and private atmosphere.

We also have a new hairdressers!!!!!
Jessie has been a hairdresser for 4 years. She attended Versailles Academy in Ottawa where she acquired her hairstylist and makeup artist certificates. Since then she has worked in the salon on the floor where she loves doing extreme makeovers and funky trend styling. The pictures are some of her work.

Uma Thurman is just one of those chicks that completely ROCK!!! She can make drugs cool, and make me wanna wear a bright yellow leather motorcycle outfit as my pajama(Kill Bill). She's not the hottest chick on the planet, but oh how she can be a muse. She totally pulls off this do and makes me think "meow" every time she pulls a drag off her smoke in the movie. ( You have to say "meow" very high pitch with a slight hip movement too). I totally wanted this do, but with my asianess it would have been more Connie Chung not so much Uma "supa" Thurman. MMMMMEEEEEOOOOOWWWWWW

Ok when I was watching this movie, I couldn't help stopping every 30 min and saying "WHAT THE F*** IS UP WITH THIS GUYS HAIR?" My poor husband was putting up with a straight 3 hrs of that. Anyway... There is just something about this 'do' that made this character in the movie "No country for old men" all the more chilling and disturbing. Maybe its the way it made his head so round. Maybe it is the way the straight lines of the cut hilighted his lined face, maybe its just a chilling and disturbing hair cut lol. Whatever it is this cut made this character even more amazingly fabulous for sure. Hands down one of the most fab dos ever.

This is one of the best professional products that I ever used. Its completely water soluble, and on top of that it smells great. Im a sucker for scents. Sam Brocato works alongside the chemist to design his products. He is first and foremost a hairdresser, so he knows how he wants the hair to feel when he works with it. Anyhoo. Enough of the retail sales shpeal. Its a hot product.

I was reminiscing with the clients today about some of my early hair memories. I remember when my mom came home to see my sisters hair cut with the kitchen scissors into a perfect bob.She had really long hair and was about 5. I was 10. I also remember when I was 13 and did my gf hair for her grade 8 grad (short cut curling ironed with the stacked curled bang. Think salt and pepa) o man I would love to see the pics now. I used to wake up at 6 in the morning and the first thing I did was turn on the curling iron. The style was all about putting your hair in the highest and tightest ponytail you could handle. Then I would spray the crap out of a tiny section, then curl that sucker tight. I know the curl wasn't good enough unless I could hear the popping and hissing of the hairspray.I was in grade 9 and I thought I was Faith Evans.I can't forget the finger wave with the gel stuck on the face either. You were really cool if you had a jewel on the face too. Forget about studying for school lol. It was no surprise that I became a complete hair addict. O man I have tons of stories lol get back to ya in a minute.

Ok so I love love love this product. Don't get it twisted though, it is not chem free. Although it does not have formaldahyde a known carsenagenic. It does have aldahyde in it. This chemical is found in photo finnishing and is not any better then formaldahyde. So why do i love it? The aldahyde in the product is under 0.01% and is only really icky when heated with the flat iron. There are emerging product out there that mimic coppola and you can even buy this product online. As a salon proffessional I strongly recomend that you do not do this product at home by yourself. So pay the money and get it done proffessionaly. keratin straightening is designed to last 3-6 months. When done by a proffessional who is more meticulous then a home job your pretty much guaranteed to have a straighter do for closer to 5-6 months. It costs in Canada anywhere between 250-450, but you save money and hassle in the long run with less salon visits and time saved in the morning. Though I'm completely jelous of all those girls with the video ho fro, and think that they should embrace the hotness, there is an alternative to those who feel otherwise. I concure. Love love love!!!!
